Casa Rubio en Algemesí

The project is formalized by means of two concrete prisms, with exposed finish, twinned together. One of them rests on the ground, and the other emerges beyond, cantilevered in its longitudinal direction.

The program is distributed over three levels, one in the basement and two above ground, with the day area on the first floor and the night area on the second floor.

As for the structural design, the optimization of the structural elements is noteworthy. The supports are reduced to the necessary compartmentalization points where exposed concrete is desired. The envelope is used as a structural element generating a three-dimensional behavior that allows the upper body to fly beyond the edges of the lower volume.
